ANNUAL DUES

Please be advised that Annual Dues in this Provincial Grand Lodge are payable prior to September 1st. All members were mailed their dues cards and notices for the current year (2012-2013) in mid-August, 2012; however, some members have not, to date, remitted their dues for either the year 2011-2012 ($45.00 includes late fee) or for the year 2012-2013 ($60.00 includes late fee) or both. It is our policy that if the annual dues payment for this two (2) year period is not received on or before August 31, 2013, those members will be suspended for non-payment of dues. If your dues are in arrears and for some reason you no longer wish to be an active member, we strongly recommend you remit your dues in full and request a “demit” in writing. By following this procedure, if you wish, at some future date, to return to active membership, you will only be required to remit your dues for the current year in which you are restored. If you request to be placed in “demit” status, however, you will not receive any further mailings, nor will you be able to attend any meetings. If you are suspended for non-payment of dues and wish to return to active membership, you will be required to remit the total arrearages plus any applicable late payment fees. Bear in mind, the dues revenue is used for our current operating expenses, including the annual fees payable to the Grand Lodge. Also, the reminderletters that are subsequently mailed regarding outstanding dues do incur additional expenses. It should be noted that when the dues increase for the year 2012-13 was proposed and approved by the members present at the Annual Meeting in July, 2011, it was not anticipated that our Provincial Grand Lodge would be subjected to any increases in our Grand Lodge Dues and Fees. We recently, however, have been advised that beginning with the fiscal year 2012-13, Grand Lodge Dues and Fees will be increased by in excess of 33%. In addition, since all of our payments to Grand Lodge must be made in a British Pound Bank Draft, we are, therefore, subjected to the currency fluctuations in the British Pound, which in recent years has not been favorable to the US Dollar. Therefore, this increase combined with the other operating cost increases have more than absorbed the additional revenue that was at the time anticipated from the annual dues increase. At the time of the current dues increase, we made no changes in the Initiation or Life Membership Fees.
